uh oh guess what catholic feast day is next. ASCENSION DAY WHOO HOO. I am so excited because of course it means that we get to share in the risen Christ's Ascending into heaven with all the saints and angels. it's thursday two days from now in fact I think this is a great tine for a week day to go to mass but if you can't get to a mass pray a lot and rejoice for once this is a joyful 0ccasion like the rising of christ from the dead. I you should take this day to fast pray and as mentioned go to mass above all read the scripture and begin to prepare for pentecost because the holy spirit is soon to come very soon to come in fact it's like two weeks or something. so Ascension on thurday Pentecost two weeks. if I'm wrong correct me.
In the name of the father son and holy spirit go in peace,
Anthony

rosary making: chicken soup for the catholic soul
Dear readers,
the rosary is an important aspect of catholicsm here is some history; the rosary began in the 15th centuries. It also has roots earlier when people counted prayers on beads and using other methods. now our lady of fatima urged everyone to pray the rosary for the downtrodden and for peace. now i make rosaries and though i have made only 3 i find it fullfilling i use wal mart bought twine and crucifixes from our lady's rosary makers. i make them out of twine with knots instead of beads.

My personal Pain part I
Dear Readers,
I was not born a catholic my mom was baptist at that time and so i wasn't really exposed to faith we went to church and my mom read me bible stories. I sang usual religous kids songs like " jesus loves me this i know" and "jesus loves the little children" and some other ones. well things shifted gears a little later. My Grandmother died and me and my uncle sat in her house looking through stuff and putting clothes in good will bags. When my uncle was cleaning the nightstand drawer he opened up and pulled out a bible he filled out the " this book belongs to ..... presented by.... on the date of...." and then handed it to me i took it home and it sat on my bookshelf for several years. When i was 8 and my one younger brother was four and my other was an infant my mom and step dad decided to baptize the younger ones but because i should have already been baptized and i wasn't i had to take RCIA classes in there i had a loose almost nonexistent understanding of catholicism. After my confirmation on easter vigil we never went back to church untill my middle brother made communion. At the age of 12 I decided to abandon my catholic upbringing for: WICCA. it didn't get too far and i didn't feel the love in it.so at age 14 i came back to the church Happy Fatima Feast Day
